“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door. You step into the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off too.”
– The Fellowship of the Ring, Chapter 3
My parents reading The Hobbit to us is among some of my earliest memories. I can say with certainty I’ve always loved Middle-Earth. I remember visualizing characters and lands long before Peter Jackson’s movie franchise. I also remember picking up The Silmarillion a dozen times and only getting through the first chapter before putting it down again.
I recall receiving the Lord of the Rings Limited Edition Risk for Christmas a number of years ago and immediately thinking “These miniatures would be awesome to paint!”—It’s just taken a bit of time to get around to painting them! These figures have been a great onramp to learning how to paint minifigs… more to come!
